FOOTWEAR

Sample of footwear projects: professional and personal

Footwear has been a long-standing passion of mine. Over the last few years, I’ve had the opportunity to design and explore footwear; including sketching, CAD development, branding, and color exploration. I will continue to always be amazed at what footwear can do, look like, and express.

Recovery footwear

When exploring recovery footwear ideation, we were looking to accommodate the “after-athlete,” everyone from runners, bike riders, sport players, and fitness enthusiasts. Through these designs, I aimed to provide an evolution of the AFTERSPORT recovery slide, providing Superfeet shape along with further establishing Superfeet design language in footwear.

Key Design Considerations: texturing that reduced previous PU blemishes and bubbling, intentional branding, and exploration of athletic knit uppers

aftersport recovery slide + MULE

The AFTERSPORT recovery Slide was designed and developed externally, with colorway exploration and mule design exploration done internally. There was 4 seasons of the AFTERSPORT recovery slide, with a custom ME3D AFTERSPORT, which included a custom 3D printed heel stabilizer. Below are the SS20 colorways used during the sales booking period.

MULE SLIDE EXPLORATION

The Superfeet Mule was designed to be built off the AFTERSPORT midsole. With a poured polyurethane construction, key considerations included balancing PU density for cushioning and stability, since the open-heel construction lacks rear foot containment. I also explored a splash guard for the back of the heel to protect from debris, while still being easy to slide on.
